Our Activities
Manav Vikas Sansthan works in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, with a focus on four areas: education, women’s empowerment, rural development and skill development. Each programme is built around the needs of the children, women, youth and families in the villages we serve.
Education & Literacy
We believe education is the most powerful tool for change. Our work helps children and adults in underserved communities learn through:
- Free tuition support for children who cannot afford private coaching
- Encouraging school enrolment and regular attendance
- Adult literacy sessions in reading, writing and basic numeracy
- Our planned Shiksha Sahayata initiative: reading, maths and homework support for children in Chitrakoot district
We want every child and adult in our communities to have the chance to learn, whatever their background.
Women's Empowerment
We support women to build skills, confidence and independence in their families and communities through:
- Forming and strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
- Vocational and life skills training, such as tailoring, beautician courses and digital literacy
- Entrepreneurship mentoring
Our programmes help women take greater control of their livelihoods and decisions, with confidence and dignity.
Rural Development
Development starts in the village. We work with farmers, labourers and families in rural communities through:
- Tree plantation with farmers and labourers
- Self-help groups and cooperatives
- Awareness of panchayati raj and village-level planning
- Helping government welfare schemes reach women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families
By strengthening local organisation and participation, we aim to improve everyday life in rural communities.
Skill Development
We help young people and adults in rural areas gain practical skills that lead to work and income through:
- Vocational training in trades such as tailoring and beautician work
- Digital literacy for youth and adults
- Life-skills sessions that build confidence and readiness for work
- Organising and mentoring local youth
Our aim is to help rural youth and families build skills that open up livelihood opportunities close to home.
